D’ANDREA GROUP STARTED WITH A MAN, A DREAM AND SOME ICE CREAM

The year was 1979, Frank D’Andrea was sporting a 70s’ mustache and extremely high-cut shorts. He had one goal: To work for himself. Frank opened a Baskin-Robbins just after his son Francesco was born. “Frankie,” grew up in Baskin-Robbins and had the honorary job of scrubbing the tile baseboards to earn his weekly toy allowance at just 5 years old.

Ready for change Frank, with investment from his sisters Annmarie and Marygrace D’Andrea, opened his first Dunkin’ Donuts in 1991 at 985 Boston Post Road, West Haven, CT. Frank added a daughter to the mix, who at age 9, enjoyed frequent naps on flour sacks in the back room of the Dunkin’ Donuts. Frank grew his business to many stores located throughout the Greater New Haven area.
